Okay, I never really liked the idea of Nonoy Aquino running
our country but it does not mean I have ever favored former President GMA over him.
As a matter of fact, due to unrelenting frenzy on some despicable issues, I preferred anybody but GMA to run this country: and
regretfully, although I had many other choices, that 'anybody' included P Noy, who I accepted as our president the moment he was declared the winner. I therefore pined my hopes and entrusted our
fate on his administration; sadly though, the frenzy dramatically escalated into a mania, and I felt like riding a roller coaster or watching somebody play Grand Theft or Illuminati.
As I was glued to our TV set during the whole course of the Luneta hostage taking, I was wishfully praying for even a glimpse of or even a statement from the highest personality in the Philippines, but it did come too late; but still I sided with him when he was derided by the Chief Executive of Hongkong: the latter could have officially tried to contact the Philippine’s Department of Foreign Affairs. In the midst of rising prices: petroleum products, local commodities, MRT and super highway toll fees; I prayed for understanding and indulgence from the Filipino people: this could have been just a birthing process for the much awaited economic freedom.

I just cannot stand the grimace on his face whenever he delivers
press statements that sound immature and bratty: for how can’t the most powerful
person in our country not act and speak with dignified words befitting his
status? And oh yes, I am eternally disgusted by his never ending allegations
about his love life when from the out start he did admit to the fact that the
first press release about his supposed to be rendezvous with a sexy starlet way
back, was just concocted to boost his political career. Well, whatever his
personal mannerisms are, I fervently hope that they are of no consequence to the business
of ruling the government.
I was in the state of ambivalence
for the so called “kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap, tuwid na daan” frenzy,
when I witnessed, once again on the TV screen, the melodramatic “chasing” of
the “pitiful” former president of the Philippines being pushed in a wheel chair
aptly donned with transformer vest from chest to nape. This is just another way
of visualizing how inept this government is in reading the adeptness in their
nemesis’ every moves.
For more than a year, GMA silently studied
their strategy (if strategy you may call it) which, courtesy of the
media, was very apparent; letting them crucify her as they gathered witnesses after alleged witnesses. Just
like Rolando Mendoza, GMA was able to map her counter attacks, but unlike the
former who together with his hostages were trapped within the confines of the
bus, GMA, with no criminal charges filed against her, could freely move around:
and this she did decisively with much accuracy when she tried to get out of the
country last November 16, 2011. Yes, in spite of DOJ successfully aborting the
said trip, I still consider that GMA act accurate, it was a calculated move:
they made sure they have the upper hand whichever way it may end. There is no
turning back anymore for Secretary De Lima and P Noy: if they consistently defy
the Supreme Court’s TRO order, GMA can form a case of ‘political persecution’.
Now that their hands will be tied by SC’s RTO, GMA can flee the country with
higher chances of other countries offering her ‘political asylum’: and who is
she to refuse such an offer! This sympathy she can get even if she is not allowed to leave the country and much worse if she dies during the process. What is a better way for a perceived transgressor to get out of this mess than passing away exonerated by the very people she supposedly transgressed?
Addendum: This is just an ordinary citizen's sentiment over an ongoing issue...a never ending one at that: 10 years and more - can be much more if not handled with proper expertise.
